Be suitable for social housing use. How It Works. Submit an expression of interest to your local authority (Dublin City, Fingal, South Dublin, or Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown). The property is assessed for suitability and repair cost estimates are reviewed. The local authority funds the works, typically up to €80,000, depending on condition. BAYT completes all refurbishment works to the required standard. The property is leased to the authority for a term of 5–25 years (Repair & Leasing), or purchased outright (Buy & Renew). Grant / Funding Details Repair and Leasing Scheme: Up to €80,000 interest-free funding for repair costs. Buy and Renew Scheme: The local authority purchases the property, funding both the acquisition and renovation. Funding covers all essential works such as structural repairs, energy upgrades, heating, plumbing, and finishes.
